Cyanotis ID from Hooghly 29/10/12 sk1:
Found this small herb inside an uncultivated paddy field.
Species : UNKNOWN
H & H : herb of about 10 cm height, similar to my earlier upload but with 1) smaller leaves, 2) smaller in length and 3) with single terminal flower except a very few
Date : 26/10/12, 10.25 a.m.
Place : Hooghly
This looks like Cyanotis axillaris [previously Tonningia axillaris].
Certainly there are few C. axillaris (eg. the left one in the first pic) in the attached pictures, but thought there might be another species growing side by side.
