Looks like Cleome viscosa ..

2.The efloraofindia site lists Cleome viscosa as a synonym of Arivela viscosa
3.The Plant List reckons Arivela viscosa and Cleome viscosa as distinct from each other.
This ambiguity needs to be cleared.
2.The efloraofindia site lists Cleome viscosa as a synonym of Arivela viscosa

This ambiguity needs to be cleared.

We can check what Catalogue of Life says which has been updated recently and appears to be much better than The Plant List. The Plant List was based on fixed data provided to them in 2012 by various service providers like WCSP etc. The underlined never changed after that. On the other hand data in Catalogue is changed on day to day basis and is based on latest sources.

Earlier I was following the CofL but some one suggested (I forgot the name) that the PL is better option. However, I guess we should follow the CofL for ID now on wards. But I found some ID completely different in the CofL.

No single source is the best option. We have to apply our mind to each and every taxon and take our decision according. Accepted name of a taxon keep on changing as you can see from time to time and from one flora to another flora. There are lot of reasons for that. Like some taxonomist splits a genus into many genera resulting in species moving to these different genera. Another taxonomist in future may lump them again into the same genus. Taxonomy is constantly changing with every new publication. As long as we identify a plant correctly, we should be happy without worrying if the name is an accepted name or a synonym. I think in the age of search, we should be quite comfortable with it.
Sometimes I do not change to the current names given in say Catalogue of Life, as we have keys of these species only as per the old nomenclature and we are quite used to these names.

Yes ..., agree!

The Plant is Cleome viscosa L.,
Regarding name change, after some review by a taxonomist the names may be changed; it is a continuous process, hence many plants of so many synonyms, As ... said, we have to apply our mind; or if we write the old name it should be written with author's name and publication, it is not a great error not to know the ever changing names, for we are accustomed to use one name for so many years!

Its funny but the whole discussion here is wrong.
Taxonomy is an opinion and its the opinion that changes and not the taxonomy. Its an art which different people understand differently.
Why this discussion is funny, because:
2.The efloraofindia site lists Cleome viscosa as a synonym of Arivela viscosa
NO ITS NOT TRUE ON MY SCREEN. I SEE ARIVELA VISCOA AS SYNONYM OF CLEOME VISCOSA
3.The Plant List reckons Arivela viscosa and Cleome viscosa as distinct from each other.
NO ITS NOT TRUE, I SEE  ARIVELA VISCOA AS SYNONYM OF CLEOME VISCOSA
Yes to me your plant does look like Cleome viscosa L. (Syn: Arivela viscosa (L.) Raf.).

Ok I see that on googlesites of eflora its writen the other way, which is wrong!! Sorry....

When I would start my lecture with a new class, I would start with "Identification and Nomenclature are two very different things".It is important that our plant is correctly identified, nomenclature is a secondary aspect especially in modern electronic era. There was a time when two volume Index Kewensis was Nomenclature Bible and none could ignore it, but there also the practice of accepted names was discontinued in all Supplements published during 20th century. We were very optimistic when TPL was initiated with collaboration of several Institutes with Kew, but unfortunately it has more confusions with often multiple accepted names, binomials with no synonyms (not even Basionym) and so on. To make matters worse major databases like TPL, GRIN don't agree on many names. It is best for us to concentrate on correct Id and don't bother much with accepted name as they keep on changing so fast.
Thanks a lot, ..., for clarity.
yaa...Viscosa. Just touch and feel the viscous nature...

..., to add to more confusion they are going to start an all new PLANTS OF THE WORLD website..... I argued with them why they dont work on Checklist or Plant List and make them perfect instead. I got a shocking response, "BECAUSE EVERY DIRECTOR AT KEW WANTS TO LEAVE HIS OWN MARK AT KEW".
It seems the plant world is controlled by the Kew.
It would be appreciable if they come up with accuracy!

It shall be Cleome viscosa
