Salacia gambleana Whiting & Kaul (Syn: Salacia talbotii Gamble); ANJUL06 Liana for identification : 8 posts by 3 authors. Attachments (7) Family: Celastraceae (?) Date: 24th July 2016 Place: Sagara, Shimoga District, Karnataka Habit: Liana Habitat: Semi-evergreen forest Can this be a Salacia sp. possibly Salacia macrosperma Wight? I think seems to match with images at http://florakarnataka.ces.iisc.ernet.in/hjcb2/img/field/Salacia%20macrosperma/salmac-fr.jpg https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/3/33/Salacia_macrosperma_Rungiah.jpg However, experts may have a look. Salacia beddomei and Salacia oblonga have been suggested as well sir. I am not certain. Yes It seems Salacia macrosperma Wight , S. beddomei will also be close to it but there the fruit will be with more ridges. I think it is salacia gambleana References: Catalogue of Life The Plant List Ver.1.1 IPNI GBIF BSI Flora of India India Biodiversity Portal (observation) IBIS Flora |
