Mature branches leafy:- Flowers solitary or nearly so:- Ovary glabrous, grooved, flowers 2.5 - 3 in, across:- Thorns hooked , leaves pubescent beneath; flowers white; fruit slightly granular, ablong ......... grandiflora Thorns straight; leaves glabrous; flowers red; fruit rugose, globular. stylosa (Syn. of Capparis divaricata Lam.)
