A very unusual plant seen in a flower bed at a station in New Jersey on 20th June,17.
Appears to be from Acanthaceae
At least one image of frontal of flower would have been better for ID.
agree with … I gave up after devoting half hour trying to figure out on the day you posted it. when something you think is unusual, that's when you need a few more pictures. this is why a few more pictures are always nice in this day of digital
I suspect it is a Campanula species.
Campanula was the first and usual suspect that where most of us I am sure started, … but rounding up the usual suspects (as in Casablanca) did not help me get any closure to a diagnosis.
I’m now wondering about Triodanis perfoliata (sometimes treated as a Campanula) as a possible ID.
