Attachments (2) Two images taken by Krishan Lal at Nahan c. 800m, H.P. - which he considered to be Campanula benthamii. Neither Flowers of the Himalaya nor its Supplement cover this species. Neither does 'Flora Simlensis' or 'Flora Lahaul-Spiti'. Stewart records this (C.canescens as a synonym) in Kashmir @ 550-2700m. Enumeration of the Flowering Plants of Nepal gives a distribution of Afghanistan to Bhutan, India, Sri Lanka and Myanamar. West & Central Nepal @ 300-1100m. I wonder if it is known in Uttarakhand? I have a copy of the printed Campanulaceae for Pakistan (E.Nasir, 1984) which covers this species. He describes it as a plant of the plains and foothills. Krishan's images of the flowers match in terms of the shape and hairiness of the calyces. Pity he took no photos of the habit of the plant nor foliage. As to the name? The Plant List has neither C.benthamii nor C.canescens....... It is a syn. of Campanula dimorphantha as per details herein. Thanks for drawing my attention to C.benthamii now being SK1030 20 MAR-2018 : 6 posts by 3 authors. Attachments (2) Location: Dhulikhel, Nepal Altitude: 4600 ft.
