Semi-desert vegetation among calcareous rocks.     
Native: Mexico (Hidalgo)
The extent of occurrence is 500 km² and is known from only a few subpopulations which are continuing to decline due to collecting.

It is Gymnocactus sp.
I'm no expert, but that looks like a Gymnocactus, horripilus perhaps?
