I knew it as 'Knol-Khol' during my stay in Arunachal....but didn't like the taste much! :-)
Yes ... KNOL-KHOL in many parts of India. Both this one and the famous haak sag of Kashmir you will relish only if it is properly cooked by an expert and in mustard oil.
I think this has to be what we call as "Navalkol" in Marathi a tasty vegetable

I photographed this Vegetable in Leh last week (29.07.14)
May I request you to please help in ID.
The vegetable is called -Knol khol.
But botanically, whether its Brassica oleracea var. gongylodes ?   or Brassica caulorapa ? 
Any expert comment ?
your plant is Brassica oleracea var. gongylodes
In Hindi it is called Ganth gobi
in English -  Knol Khol,  
Brassica oleracea var. caulorapa (Kohlrabi/ Knol Khol)
