MS-020312 -79 ID requested - Bignoniaceae: Herewith sending the photographs of a tree species taken in Mysore garden. The tree is blooming in leafless condition. Date 2.3.2012 Confirmation of ID requested.
This looks Dolichandrone spathacea, just a wild guess.
This is Varas [Heterophragma quadriloculare].
I think this is Radermachera xylocarpa (Khadshing)
The tree in question here is Varas [Heterophragma quadriloculare]. Have both on my property. The main difference is in their barks and also Varas is generally never leafless while flowering.
Sending a few of my photographs. Will send photographs of Kharsing [Radermachera xylocarpa] for comparison in a separate mail.
My previous photographs of this are available at this link

..., is this Waras?
I think Waras.
Heterophragma quadriloculare.
But difficult to rule out Radermachera.....
Generally many leaves with flowers indicate it to be Waras only.

Tree ID request - RK71 - 26-Dec-2012:  Request identification of this tree from Tungareshwer. The leaflets are velvety and I thought this is Garuga pinnata.
The tree no. RK66 that I had posted yesterday was also identified as Garuga pinnata ... I'm confused because that tree had leaflets with prominent pointy tips which are lacking in this one.
It is Hterophragma quadriloculare (Bignoniaceae),
Agreed this is Varas [H.quadriloculare].

Came across this white-leaved sapling of Heterophragma quadriloculare
Today (10.7.13) at Kanakeshwar, Alibag
Rather than mutation, it is complete lack of Chlorophyll a case of 'Albino'.

Dehuroad mh tree id : 4 posts by 3 authors. Attachments (2)
Pl id this tree seen today at a dehuroad mh hill. It is on a fully rocky hill. Very hardy.
Heterophragma quadriloculare.
Lovely fragrant flowers around this time.

Thank you ... for making a quick id.
It always give me happiness to meet a new tree and be able to recognize it.
What wondered me is that I'm visiting a near by similar hill since a decade now which do not have this "waras" tree. This new hill is barely two KM and it has some new/different tree varities like this one Waras and Bhutya tree. There was one more same tree having few flowers - but it was bit burnt by fire (deliberate).
Now, will be looking for it to bloom and see pods and bees on it - lets see how it goes.
