This Impatiens was shot in August 2013... please suggest id..
Can this be Impatiens thomsonii, the leaves and flower size suggests so..
An input received led me to Impatiens amplexicaulis....
The illustration on FoC matches well... (http://foc.eflora.cn/content.aspx?TaxonID=242423055)
Thanks a lot ... for the lead..
This looks like I. badrinathii, recently described by Pusalkar and Singh - leaves are amplexicaul, but spur is straight/almost straight. Both description and figure in FoC are misleading.

Yes, it is I.chungtienensis.

Impatiens badrinathii is the same species as Impatiens chungtienensis (see the 2015 paper attached).
(meaning, it was incorrectly described as a new species)
So the correct species is:
Impatiens chungtienensis Y.L.Chen in Acta Phytotax. Sin. 16(2): 40, 44, fig. 1-2 (1978)
Synonyms:
Impatiens badrinathii Pusalkar and Singh in Taiwania 55(1): 13, fig. 1 A–W (2010)
Impatiens amplexicaulis auct. non Edgew.
Although it was originally discovered in China, it is also found in the Himalayas, Eastern to Western.
I am attaching 3 images of Impatiens chungtienensis for comparison.
Thanks ... for update and sharing the useful paper.
... is correct. Apparently Himalayas are corridor along which I. chungtienensis wandered from China to Uttarakhand (or in opposite direction?).

VoF Week :: Impatiens thomsonii at Auli:  Impatiens thomsonii ... (family: Balsaminaceae)
31 JUL 12
Auli ... 8750 - 9000 ft
I think, this one is Impatiens chungtienensis Y.L.Chen (what has been called Impatiens badrinathii on this forum), and not Impatiens thomsonii.
The difference between the two is a bit subtle. The straight spur, and not curved, may be the first indicator. But the more noticeable one is that the upper leaves are stem-clasping. Also, the leaves may be almost oblong.
A comparison with ... Impatiens thomsonii images from Kashmir might help:
In ... species, the spur is curved, and the upper leaves may be stalkless, but are not
stem-clasping. Also, the leaves are ovate, never tending to oblong.
The difference between the flowers of Impatiens chungtienensis and Impatiens thomsonii is rather subtle. In I. chungtienensis the lower sepal gradually narrows into the spur, but in I. thomsonii the lower sepal abruptly narrows into the spur. This difference may be noted by looking at the side views of flowers in ... and ... species.
OK ..., I will revise my notes accordingly.

Saw this near Ghangaria on Ghangaria-VOF trail, Uttarakhand in Aug 2018.
Requested to please provide ID, is this Impatiens chungtiensis?

May be as per images at
https://sites.google.com/site/efloraofindia/species/a---l/b/balsaminaceae/impatiens/impatiens-chungtienensis
Flower images not so clear but I guess Impatiens sulcata Wall.
Thanks ... for the feedback. I. chungtiensis on efi seems to have a straight spur, I had overlooked that. Here the spur seems to be curved.
However, the size of the flowers differs, these are smaller than the ones on efi. Could this be something else?
Yes, Impatiens chungtienensis
