To me, yes this is...
A real beauty from Asteraceae.
You have luckily covered the leaf pictures too.
Thank you ... I got a better photo on my phone today of the same specimen and I am sharing here. Attachments (1)
Looks different from Ainslaea aptera, can be A.pteropoda ? Attachments (1)
Thank you ... After your email I consulted Flowers of the Himalaya and found that the difference between the two species lies in their leaves. For A. pteropoda (A. latifolia) the leaf stalks are winged. Just today I noticed the winged leaf stalks in the morning and despite low light and rain made this picture which I am attaching here with different crops showing details for confirmation. Please advise.

I collected more photos yesterday showing the leaves on the stalk and wings more clearly. I have learned that in A. aptera the leaves are only at the base and absent on the stalk. My sample has narrow leaves present up on the stalk below the flowers. Could we conclusively say that the specimen I photographed is A. latifolia

I think yes
Thank you ... for confirming it as Ainsliaea latifolia.
Ainsliaea are out again and I found my first plants of the season yesterday. I carried my camera with me today and took some photographs. I was very interested in exploring the individual florets (three in this case) of this compound flower and plucked a flower for a closer look. Here are the results with whole flowers, florets, pappus and the plant habit.
Ainsliaea latifolia (Ainsliaea is after Sir Whitelaw Ainslie, a 19th century doctor and author employed in India, latifolia means broad-leaved in Latin)

I am sending herewith the pictures of some plants, collected from Shillong, Meghalaya. It will greatful if these specimens get identified.
I think it's Ainsliaea species most likely Ainsliaea latifolia. Pl. check for winged leaf stalks.

Looks like Ainsliaea aptera
Ainsliaea aptera from Asteraceae
I think it's Ainsliaea latifolia due to winged leaf stalks.
I agree with ... These are in flower now in Dharamshala too.
nice to see you again ... nice plant details
Thanks ... haven't been posting because I am no longer in India... and this is an old observation... and I am continuously grateful to ... and others who keep taking interest in the older observations and updating the ids...
oh yes, ... i remember now you had told me. how about the local flora from where you are? in france from one of your links under your signature. it would be lovely if you get time. be well
Ainslaea latifolia, though the details of leaf and flowers are not adequate. Ainslaea is a cleistogamous plant in which the flowers fertilize without opening. During March, the flowers appear first and leaves follow thereafter. 2nd flush of flowers appears during Sept.- October.
