efi page on Tricholepis amplexicaulis
This must be Tricholepis glaberrima which stands about a metre tall, with flower-head of the size as seen in your 3rd pic.
T. amplexicaulis is a larger herb, about 1.5 - 2 m tall, with basal leaves of amplexicaul nature; larger flower-head with robust stalk.
Thank you very much ...

I presume this is tricholepis amplexicaulis and not Tricholeis radicans?
Photographed recently in Sanjay Gandhi National Park, Mumbai. This plant attracts butterflies and other insects. A Crab Spider had successfully caught a Grey Pansy butterfly that came to feed. On the ground below i noticed a wing of a Great Eggfly that too must have fallen prey to the lurking Crab spider.
Lovely pictures. It appears so to me
It appears to be Tricholepis glaberrima DC.

This herb with different and interesting morphology seen in its full lilac colour at the south end of the national park in Mumbai on 8 Nov. '09.
Leaves are alternate, sessile, linear oblong. Leafy bracts, Outer bracts linear lanceolate with very long recurved bristles, inner bracts longer than outer bracts with shorter bristles.

Plant for ID SMP2- 30/12/2010: An Asteraceae member shrub.
5-6 feet tall. Leaves lanceolate sessile hairy.
Observed near Ambolgad on a plateau Rajapur Konkan.

This is the Western Hill Thistle [Tricholepis amplexicaulis].
I feel this is Tricholepis glaberimma
Fair enough, but Tricholepis glaberrima is a smalll annual herb 50 - 100 cms tall, whereas the plant in question here is a shrub.
I would personally go with t. glaberrima because Leaves are not amplexicaul at base
involucre bracts are shorter and erect and not recurved
Heads look smaller in size

Spiny herb near Ananthapur, Andhrapradesh
efloraofindia google group is very useful to me. But photos of Dicoma tomentosa are wrong. May the photos are tricholepis which are mention for Dichoma. If anything wrong in my mail please ignore
It is Dicoma tomentosa only, you can not come to a conclusion by one image only, compare it with images of Flowers of India, EOL etc images and characters of the plant.
Thank you ..., Both are related genera, In Dicoma leaf is entire, where as in Tricholepis leaves are pinnatisect. This image represents Tricholepis glaberrima DC. The season we visited is dry summer and I thought to be dried plant of Dicoma.
Please check my images sir. which collected by me. first three attachments Tricholepis and 4th and 5th one is dicoma sps.

Seen this plant at Malhargad near Pune in September 2020 on a small hillock.
Is it some Tricholepis?
Requested to please ID.

Looks like Tricholepis amplexicaulis C.B.Clarke !
Thank you ...
Even I thought so.
But these flowers were very small compared to T. amplexicaulis that I have seen.
Can this be T. glaberrima?
Yes, … I also feel more close to Tricholepis glaberrima DC. as per comparative images at Tricholepis
