These pics were again recorded from Panipat, I hope they too belong to Laggera aurita (fruiting stage), kindly help to confirm the id....
Reference ... Post-

I think yes

I hope I am correct in identifying this as Pseudoconyza viscosa (Mill.) D’ Arcy in Phytologia. 25 (5): 281. 1973 (Syn.: Laggera aurita (L.f.) C. B. Clarke), shot from Panipat on April 25, 2012.
I agree with ... on the identification. I too have one question regarding the nomenclature. According to the plant list Pseuduconyza viscosa has been mentioned as a synonym of Laggera aurita. So which name should be considered to be the correct one?

I am attaching herewith the pics recorded from Panipat, of Laggera aurita in flowering stage, this is a common plant here, slightly aromatic... I will send the later stage pics in a separate mail, kindly confirm the id....

Thanks ... Nice upload
Thanks sir for confirmation and liking..

It appears to me that it is the same plant as in ... post - https://groups.google.com/forum/?fromgroups=#!topic/indiantreepix/JBTQ1B3rrM0.

-I usually get confused between Laggera and Blumea. This post have removed my doubts, I hope someday I will find Blumea posted.
-it is often difficult to tell apart some genera. Here is one species of Blumea which was uploaded by me and identified as B. laciniata after a long discussion. https://groups.google.com/group/indiantreepix/browse_thread/thread/b9... <https://groups.google.com/group/indiantreepix/browse_thread/thread/b9...>.

The plants of Blumea are mostly with yellow heads, Lagger much paler lilac in colour.

I think the pictures are not very clear. Perhaps we might get a new set of pictures from the same plant.
... if I cross the road again I will look for the plant
Please check Laggera aurita Sch.-Bip., which has pinkish/purplish heads.https://sites.google.com/site/efloraofindia/species/a---l/ar/asteraceae/blumea/pseudoconyza-viscosa
Many thanks for the help. the plant does look like Laggera aurita  as you have suggested.

Any Blumea sp.?
It may be Blumea obliqua; are the leaves amplexicaul?

Asteraceae member:  1 correct image.
sorry for the picture quality.
I have collected this plant from Kalyangad, Satara district; Maharasthra.
however i have also seen this plant at Matheran, Mahabaleshwar of Maharshtra in sporadic distribution.
Height: about 3 feet
Leaves: spinescent margins. variables sized leaves.
pl help me in id
it can be Laggera_aurita from asteraceae
quite possible Laggera aurita has pink inflorescence and is aromatic
Thanks a lot. Your suggestions about Laggera aurita is quite matching with my specimen which i have briefly described as below:
Habit: Upto 3.5 ft high, suffructicose. Stem: Cylindrical, Striated, yellowish, old stem sparsely hairy, Younger stems thickly hairy. Leaves: Lower leaves lyrate, deeply lobed, spinescent margins, 12-15 x 8-10 cm, Upper leaves variable, smaller, elliptic, sometimes spathulate, serrate with spinescent tips 2-3 x 1-2 cm. Flowers: Corymbose, heads 0.5 cm across, colourless (I have seen this plant in April 12. As per the Maharashtra flora the Laggera aurita has flowering time in November-December and it is believed to have pinkish heads). Involucral bracts greenish, multiseriate, outermost bracts are smallest in size. Achenes oblanceolate, ribbed with crown of long pappus hairs ie. about 3-4 times of length of achene. Therefore, I can conclusively identify my specimen as Laggera aurita.
Images appears to be from different species and does not match with images at Blumea viscosa
it looks like Laggera aurita (Willd.) Scgh.-Bip.
Thanks, … May be. But 2nd image is different.
Yes ..., the leaves are different, as in Laggerra the lower leaves (not rosette leaves) on the main stem are different and upper leaves are with auricular bases. hence i feel it is Laggerra aurita.
