A sapling, seems to be Helianthus debilis Nuttall subsp. cucumerifolius (Torrey & A. Gray) Heiser, @ Rs.10 on the 30th March. Last photographed on 20th April. Passed away on the 26th. This plant is very commonly cultivated in Delhi and often runs wild and may be found on garbage dumps or waste places. When I came to Delhi in 1975, some one introduced this plant to me as Viguieria helianthoides, and this went on for many years till a few years back when I identified it as Helianthus debilis. It is good that you mentioned subspecies cucumerifolius, and after seeing key in eflora of N. America, I realised that plant grown in Delhi is actually this one only. Thanks once again for update.
