Next to the other flower were these plants. I do not think these buds open more and these probably are the flowers. The leaves are very similar to the other plant. Both leaves and stalks are covered in tiny white hair. Please advise.

Thank you ... It looks most certainly like the Japanese Fleabane or Conyza japonica.

This fleabane is scattered in small numbers on our hillsides. I think this could be Conyza japonica or the Japanese Fleabane. Please advise.

Asteraceae Fortnight Part 2-Discoid heads- Blumea mollis pl. validate-GS18 : Attachments (3). 5 posts by 3 authors.
This plant uploaded from Morni hills and also from Uttarakhand was tentatively but not conclusively identified as Blumea mollis. Please validate or otherwise - efi thread

I may very well be wrong, but i think this is Blumea hieracifolia DC -
It can never be Blumea mollis / axillaris.
The florets, specially the central florets are yellow.
No purplish hue in any of the heads, as has been described in -
On the other hand, scape like form, yellow central florets, purplish red phyllary apex indicate that this is B. hieracifolia (hieraciifolia).
or

Blumea ...sp???

May be.
Pl. check with images at Blumea hieracifolia (D. Don) DC.  & Blumea lacera (Burm.f.) DC.
I think close to Blumea hieraciifolia as per images, details and references herein.

I think this also appears more closer to images at Conyza japonica

Growing around Tikkar Tal lake, Morni along rocky ground. Herb around 60-90 cm tall, leaves simple up to 12 cm long, upper smaller, clasping, margin sinuate, toothed. Heads about 7-9 mm across, yellowish.
Perhaps some species of Blumea, but not very sure.
Photographed on April 10, 2011
As Blumea mollis has been previously collected by me from the area, there are good reasons for this this to be so.

Sir I think that in Blumea mollis the heads are purple and very closely related species to B. mollis is Blumea lacera in which the heads are yellow which is very clearly indicated in this photograph.
Sir, I am sending couple of pictures which I have confirmed it as Blumea lacera
For me these are Blumea laciniata
This is another plant in the Blumea confusion. This plant according to FOI and links cited by me below looks like Blumea mollis. Dr. ... thinks this is B. lacera. He has uploaded plant in support of his identification (which I think is B. laciniata). We have four sets of plants and three names to fit in. Please give your opinion and find the fourth name to solve this mystery.
1. First this plant which according to me, ...., FOI photograph is B. mollis but ... thinks is B. lacera
2. Plant uploaded by me at FOI as B. laciniata (because it has cult leaves), similar plant is uploaded in present thread by ... which he calls B. lacera
3. Plant identified as B. lacera in FOI website and following links
4. The plant uploaded by me in the another thread, which looks to me as much different but ... calls B. mollis
Some more links which suggest that above plant is not B. lacera
http://www.flickr.com/photos/ryanbrookes/3505288849/
Now we need an experts advice by seeing the links I will go with mine and yours as B. laciniata and certainly not as B. lacera. Experts advice awaited to solve the mystery !
This is not Blumea mollis
B. mollis have purplish flower
sry not flower purplish white disc florets. externally heads looked like purplish
I think close to Blumea hieraciifolia as per images, details and references herein.

I think already identified as Conyza japonica
I think C. japonica only
Thanks, … I agree with you.

May be. Check with comparative images at Blumea

To me also it does not match with any comparative images at Blumea
You may further check at comparative images at Inuleae

To me appears close to images at Conyza japonica
