Cotula hemisphaerica Wall. ex Benth. & Hook.f., 150 . (syn: Artemisia hemisphaerica Roxb.; Cotula hemisphaerica Wall.; Ethulia nepalensis Spreng. ex DC.);

Distrib. India: Indo-Gangetic Plain, a weed of paddy fields ascending in the Himalayas up to 800 m. Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, W. Bengal, Assam, Manipur and Meghalaya; China and Japan


Much-branched annual to 10cm, most parts subglabrous. Lower leaves 1-2-pinnatisect, to 4 x 1.5cm, ± obovate in outline, very sparsely villous beneath; primary segments 2-4(-6) pairs; ultimate segment ± narrowly oblong or linear,acuminate toa fine hyaline point. Upper leaves smaller, usually 1-pinnatisect. Capitula at anthesis 2-5mm diameter, often subsessile; peduncle c 5-10mm in fruit. Involture 2-seriate; outer phyllaries oblong, pallid, to 2.2 x 1mm; innre ones smaller. Female flowers 5-6 seriate, without corollas; styles 0.2-0.4mm. Bisexual corollas c 0.8mm. Female achenes on stipes to 0.2mm, obovoid, c 0.8 x 0.4mm including pale thick margin.

This is a plant I captured in Assam. The quality of the picture is not good. Kindly help in identification
I think this is Cotula hemisphaerica (Asteraceae).
