Common names: Narrow-leaved plantain lily

Perennial herb with ovate-lanceolate, up to 15 cm long with 5-6 nerves on each side, dark green, glossy, tip pointed, petiole slender; flowers light purple fading with age, up to 5 cm long, funnel-shaped, in loose 5-30-flowered elongated raceme, anthers violet.

Thanks, ..., As per Flora of North America, since this species is of ancient horticultural origin and does not occur in the wild, it has been reduced to cultivar status in horticultural nomenclature as Hosta ‘Lancifolia’ (W. G. Schmid 1991).
It is only a note. Both FNA, GRIN and other databases recognize H. lancifolia.
