Manipur identifications 2: This was a Schefflera sp. between Imphal and Ukhrul. Any ideas, or perhaps a list of species native to Manipur?
This is Araliaceae but not Schefflera. This could be an Aralia sp.
I am 100% sure it is a Schefflera ... I have seen a virtually identical species in Vietnam and a very similar species (in leaf) in China, for example. Google Schefflera delavayi to see a similar leaf shape.
We found 4 species of Schefflera in Manipur, one of them being S. rhododendrifolia, but the others remain a mystery.
It is definitely not an Aralia sp., many species of which I have grown and many more I've seen wild. A very different leaf morphology.
Are there no species lists for certain Indian States? I see Flora of Manipur online has been started, but has a long way to go... According to that, these Schefflera are not endemic to Manipur alone, so should be known from other States.
I also feel that it is Arelia, not Schefflera.
Please check Brassaiopsis of Araliaceae.
Schefflera hypoleuca (Kurz) Harms = Heptapleurum hypoleucum Kurz.
Young plants show this feature.
Obviously a variable species across its range, but I am convinced. Many thanks ...

Kindly request you to identify with scientific name. This photo has been taken in East Khasi Hills, Meghalaya.

Was this a small tree? Can't make out the leaves completely.  Looks like an Araliaceae member. Trevesia sp??
Are there some other photos of this plant?
Thank you for the information. I don't have any other photos of this plant.
In my opinion this appears to be an Araliaceae member.
Likely to be either Brassiopsis sp or something close by.

I think close to images at Schefflera hypoleuca (Kurz) Harms

Yes, I agree.
