Cormous herbs, corms ca. 2 cm diameter. Leaves with petioles 6.5-12.5 cm; lamina variable, usually hastate-sagittate to ovate-lanceolate, acuminate. Peduncle 7-8.5 cm. Spathe 11-13 cm long, basal convolute portion ovoid, blade flat, oblong- lanceolate. Spadix 9-12 cm long, shorter than spathe, pistillate and staminate portions separated by a naked interstice with sterile flowers in the middle, staminate flowers overtopped by a sessile, naked appendix. Pistillate flowers few, subtruncate, and unilocular with 4-5 apical and basal ovules. Sterile flowers subulate, creamy to purplish. Staminate flowers in a cylindrical mass, each stamen with two anther lobes and an unbeaked connective, anthers purplish at the tip; appendix 7-9 cm long, creamy to purplish.
