Annual herbs. Leaflets 7-8, 6-10 x 2-3 cm. Spathe 6-15 x 4-5 cm, convolute at base; limb expanded and curved Spadix 4.5-6 cm long. Pistillate flowers with, ovary 1-celled; ovules 4-6; stigma sessile. Staminate flowers of 1-2 anthers forming an annular stalked structure. Spadix appendix thick blunt at tip with a lower stripe having subulate sterile flowers; sterile flowers 1-2 in male spadix, many in female.
