Apocynaceae Climber For ID : Yellow Flowers : 27APR15 : AK-4 : 7 posts by 4 authors. Attachments (5)
Saw this climber in a plant nursery in Muscat.
Unfortunately, there were no open flowers.
Kindly help in id.
do you have some books on arabian flora by any chance
may be investing in some and then teaching us would be fun, i think
This is not a native plant.
It is a govt. nursery cultivating ornamental & garden plants.
I have studied a lot of native plants and also have a book.
Trying to Search for images with climber having yellow flowers.
Looks quite close to Mandevilla, with leaves little bigger oval shaped and flowers smaller.
Leaves not thick and glossy.
Looks like Pentalinon luteum.... not sure, only a guess....
Thanks for suggested id.
I have already stated that flowers are quite close to Mandevilla, but smaller in size, the leaves not glossy.
Pl. see efi page on Mandevilla  While searching, the closest I could find was this link.....
Finally I could see the open flowers.
This is none other than Urechites lutea of Apocynaceae.
The Yellow Mandevilla.
The variations could have been due to intense heat in the climate.
Thanks for the help.
Adding a picture of the flowers. Attachments (1)

Request you to identify the plant with yellow flowers given in the pic.
Allamanda cathartica ??

It is Pentalinon luteum (L.) B.F.Hansen & Wunderlin, of Apocyanaceae

The photograph is not clear. Close up(s) of the flower and foliage would help identify the plant. Looks different from Allamanda  Could be a species of Urechites . U.lutea ?
As per theplantlist U.
lutea is a synonym of Pentalinon luteum (L.). You may please note.
