Twining under shrubs. Stem branched. Leaves opposite, decussate, petiolate, narrowly ovate-lanceolate
– broadly ovate, shortly acuminate at apex, rounded to shallowly cordate at base, ciliate along margin and
nerves beneath. Flowers in lateral sub-sessile umbel-late few – many flowered cymes. Corolla urceolate or
tubular, 0.8 – 1.4 cm long, faint - deep red, densely pilose within; lobes 5, acute at apex, glabrous. Corona
staminal, uniseriate, campanulate, adnate to the base of staminal column, 5-lobed at apex, fleshy, larger than
gynostegium, cup shaped, broad, cuneate-rounded with entire margins.
