Whole plant is very fragrant when crushed. Have this on my property at Shahapur. I had kept this plant as H. grande up until now. Then after comparing the various close species I became quite confused - counting the rays, comparing the leaves and the stated heights for the plants. The other factor I considered is the reported flowering time. H. grande is usually stated as flowering in July- Aug whereas the other one is September. I noticed that the plants I photographed the other day were only just beginning to come into bloom. Heracleum dalgadianum S.M.Almeida, by classification must be "grayish- hirsute/hirtellus....atleast on the lower surface of leaves" (Almeida, Fl. of MH. vol.4: 354). But the one posted by ... seems to be totally glabrous. It can be either Heracleum grande or Heracleum aquilegifolium. Based on the leaves, I stick to H.grande (Dalzell & A. Gibson) Mukhop.
