The name Bupleurum comes from Greek meaning ox rib, I am not sure why. Also I cannot understand the common names Hare’s Ear and Thorow-wax. Please advise and correct me if I am wrong.

Gorgeous, my all time favorite this week
rare... very
the Poulinin book only has description ( which does not include blue fruits) and a line drawing...
that's where my knowledge stops... sorry
but could not resist telling you that I just love this ...
I would go with Bupleurum candollei seeing the bracts. The other Bupleurum found in the Valley is Bupleurum longicaule.
Yes, I will also go with B. candollei. Both have involucel bracts longer than flowers, but B. longicaule has usually lesser number of strongly unequal rays. Here we can count atleast 8 of them. My B. longicaule from Kashmir is on FOI

Wild Herb captured on 13/8/10 during the trek from Ghangaria (around 11,000 ft.) to Hemkunt Sahib (around 14000 ft.).
This would be Pleurospermum candollei of Apiaceae.
Pleurospermum candollei
I was just checking on postings of Pleurospermum on this site, to see if there were any images of a species photographed in Bhutan which I am about to draw attention to. I can confirm that these images are definitely not of Pleurospermum candollei. They are of a Bupleurum - which is rather a difficult genus. Yet another one for me to look at closely in the future. Very nice shots- though fruits are not mature, which sometimes are essential to be certain as to which species a specimen belongs to. I have some images of P.candollei which I shall endeavour to post at some point.

Pl. correct.
Thank for pointing that out ... Have made the changes.
I was just reading the description of B. candollei on eflorachina and flower color alone is not a distinguishing feature as the description states the flowers can be yellow or dark purple; 'Petals pale yellow or dark purple. Stylopodium low-conic, discoid, dark yellow or dark purple.'  The key to Bupleurum is a bit long and I do not have all the morphological details in my observation to run through it. What are your thoughts?
Thanks, ... I have analysed all the posts in efloraofindia along with available on line resources like eFloras, GBIF etc. and reached to this conclusion.
Pl. see all the observations at  Bupleurum longicaule along with discussions.
Also see Bupleurum candollei
Corrected now.

Thank you very much mentors, but it seems different from B.longicaule in respect of heart shaped leaves and single leaves arise from node.
In longicaule cluster of leaves appear on nodes.
To me also appears close to Bupleurum longicaule Wall. ex DC. as per comparative images at Bupleurum
