this delight was growing on the roadside from Lava to Kalimpong
Delightful indeed!Look too delicate to be 'wild':)
Looks familiar, but can't remember what it is. Looks like the seed-
pods, instead of flowers.
In the bottom left corner of the first picture the pink flowers are
Bristletips (Oxyspora paniculata)
http://www.flowersofindia.net/catalog/slides/Bristletips.html
(at least I can identify something, even if u didn't ask for it!) ;-)
thanks for confirming my tentative suspicion about these being seed pods. I look forward to more views.
And thank you for id-ing the self-effacing Bristletips in the first picture. Will post a loud and clear one of it tomorrow, continuing the Pink series.
This is an exciting journey of learning! Thanks all for this experience.
That's no confirmation of seed-pods, its only my suspicion! :)
... just a wild and stupid guess, any Rumex species ?
This one looks like Dobinea sp. of Anacardiaceae family.
thanks for the ID. I can now narrow it down to Dobinea vulgaris.
Flowers are tiny, pale yellow.
Fruit is a small compressed capsule covered by yellow-white or rose-
colored, veined, paper bracts, which are circular in shape.

Thank you ... Shall I freeze this as Dobinea vulgaris then? So these are seed pods!

Id pl. it was a shrub, may be small tree.
It may be Flemingia sp. (may be F. strobilifera).
does not match with images of Flemingia strobilifera (L.) W.T.Aiton
Pl mention place of collection and altitude
Probably not a legume (Fabaceae member). We have to search it in some other family. Sapindaceae?
This is Dobinea vulgaris

Location Kalimpong Darjeeling West Bengal
Please identify

My colleague says Flemingia sp. (near to strobilifera).

Does not matches with images at Flemingia strobilifera (L.) W.T.Aiton
Also does not matches with any species so far in efi at Flemingia and Phyllodium
Can it be some other species of Flemingia
My colleague informed it is Flemingia sp. (strobilifera also like this infl., but certainly not this one). Pl. try in Flemingia spp. He could not identify based on photo on specific level

It is Dobinea vulgaris as per images herein.

Dobinea vulgaris Buch.-Ham. ex D. Don ??

I am not finding the match with these flowers on net and as per FOC illustration
Do male flowers look like this ?

I also checked comparative images at Anacardiaceae, but could not find any match.
This is Dobinea vulgaris.

Tree or shrub ?
Any idea about the family ?
It is shrub !
Any idea about the family or genus of this shrub ?
Any chance of it being some where close to Mysinaceae, Maesa?
Did not find any match at Myrsinaceae !

I think Dobinea vulgaris as identified in another thread: SK 2171 11 September 2019

Though the leaves do look like Dobinea, the inflorescence looks different in this picture... so perhaps a different Dobinea spp..?
Yes ..., ID is correct !
