Distribution: only cultivated

The commonest garden cultivar with branched pulose spikes usually red or yellow in colour. The plant may be confused with Amaranthus with coloured inflorescence, but genus Celosia is easily separated by many seeded dehiscent fruit as against single-seeded in Amaranthus.

Here is another Amaramth family that needs a name… It looked very decorative in a border, in a private garden by the Hooghly river this winter.
Another colour of Celosia argentea var. plumosa
so leaf color is different (from the previous case) but the other features remain the same? hence the same binomial?
With ... thought ... Celosia argentea var. plumosa.
.... change in colours of leaf / flower / stem - because it is cultivar.
