The advantage of trying to oppose the highest ranks sometimes translates in finding the possible solution. Else I would have countered why it can't be T. affinis S. Moore! Thunbergia affinis S. Moore is not mentioned in the Checklist of Acanthaceae of India (Karthikeyan et al.2009, pp.61-62) nor it is listed in the Plants of Indian Botanic Garden (Chowdhery & Pandey 2007). No problem ..., T. affinis has much longer bracts and sepals.

I think it must be Thunbergia erecta; the leaves in foreground could be of some other plant. The leaves do not belong to the flower, it is some Tree's. Like Thespesia populnea. Thunbergia erecta has a straggling habit so it is blooming amidst the tree's foliage.

Ecological factors play a major role in morphological features of the plants. They include edaphic (soil etc) and climatic factors Perhaps this could be Thunbergia erecta? pl. check.
