I think this is Strobilanthes cruciata (Bremek.) Terao.

I don't have a specimen at hand to compare but the inflorescence looks right.

Is ... making herbarium specimens? If so, it would be goods to see images of specimens of some of these rarer species.

Nothing for the moment. I am still puzzled by this plant. There is something of Strobilanthes cruciata but the corolla is clearly pubescent, which is wrong. If I get a good idea I will contact you. No chance of more photographs or photographs of a specimen showing the whole inflorescence?
