Strobilanthes pentstemonoides  ???
Same Strobilanthes sp. to help id. Attachments (1)- 1 MB.

I think this is Strobilanthes discolor (Nees) T. Anderson.

Taking it as Strobilanthes clarkei for the time being, in view of discussions in another thread.

Strobilanthes clarkei ??
To me also appears close as per first glance at
https://sites.google.com/site/efloraofindia/species/a---l/a/acanthaceae/strobilanthes/strobilanthes-clarkei
I think this is Strobilanthes discolor (Nees) T. Anderson although I can't clearly see the mature leaves.

I think this is Strobilanthes clarkei J.R.I. Wood although I now have some doubts about whether it is distinct from Strobilanthes discolor (Nees) T. Anderson
To me these images appear similar to other images at Strobilanthes discolor
Kindly confirm.

It isn't always easy to compare images. For Strobilanthes discolor I am looking for a strongly anisophyllous plant with one leaf much smaller in each pair, typically discolorous and slightly oblique. The inflorescence should be well-branched with capitellate flowers, caducous bracteoles and a glabrous, somewhat bent blue corolla. The calyx is small, glabrous when young but somewhat accrescent and later glandular. The only very similar species (I.e with the glabrous corolla and this kind of inflorescence) is S. clarkei, which I am not certain is truly distinct but this has a paniculate inflorescence and an eglandular calyx at maturity. Both the images sent seem to fit S. discolor but I suppose a third (new) species could be involved but this is not obvious from the photos I have seen.
Taking it as Strobilanthes clarkei for the time being, in view of discussions in another thread.

Pl. also check comparative images at Strobilanthes

Any better images?

Looks like Strobilanthes clarkei or S. discolor but I need to see how the inflorescence branches - probably easiest to see from a dried/pressed specimen as the leaves conceal the branching in a fresh specimen.
