Is it Ruellia geminiflora syn: Ruellia humilis of Acanthaceae family?
I think it is Dipteracanthus prostratus...
The id by ... is correct, I think.
Most of the species of Dipteracanthus are synonyms of Ruellia now.
Thanks ..., but theplantlist says it is an unresolved name...as far as I know only one sp of Ruellia, i.e. R. tuberosa is naturalized in India. All other wild species come under Dipteracanthus. But, I am not sure of the current name for this taxon, you may be right in saying Ruellia.
Thank you ... for pointing out my mistake.
Only Ruellia tuberosa is naturalized in India.
Here I think the leaves are smaller than that of Dipteracanthus prostratus. It is not very clear whether the plant is prostrate or erect from the picture.
Any chance of Ruellia patula (Syn: Dipteracanthus patulus)?

ID validation- Ruellia tuberosa- 210112-PKA1: Sharing few photographs of a Ruellia sp.
I think this is Ruellia tuberosa? Kindly validate the ID.
Family: Acanthaceae
Date/Time: 15-01-2012 / 09:30AM
Location: Mumbai
Habitat: was seen growing wild near the street, could be garden escape..
Plan Habit: Herb, approx 80 to 90 cm in height.

As far as I know Ruellia tuberosa has glabrous leaves and introse stamen.
In your plant the leaves are hirsute and also has an extrose stamens. Which makes me feel this is not Ruellia tuberosa.
For Ruellia tuberosa, i am not agree.
May be Ruellia inundata Kunth : http://apps.kew.org/herbcat/getImage.do?imageBarcode=K000534284
But not reported from India.
Pl see for Supushpa scrobiculata.
What about Dipteracanthus patulus. Katmora काटमोरा
It looks similar to my post earlier which was thought to be R.tuberosa by me
. (Ruellia tuberosa ?)

Ruellia inundata as per another thread.
The following link will give you KEY to R. inundata
This click gives field guide.
This page gives some info, the ventricose part of the flower looks more elongated (you may check Dave's also), one simple way to ascertain the id from some other in the clade is to check for obovoid fruit, which I fail to see here.

Ruellia tuberosa IS THE CALL FROM ME!!
Dipteracanthus species!
Dipteracanthus patulus syn Ruellia patula. R. tuberosa is a garden escape.
Still doubtful whether it is Ruellia prostrata or Ruellia tuberosa.
I think it appears more like Dipteracanthus prostatus Syn. Ruellia prostrata

Validate and identify Ruellia spp
Ruellia species so far in efi.
Could be Ruellia malacosperma. However it is difficult to  confirme as the leaves in your photographs is not very clear
Thanks, ... Ruellia malacosperma Greenm. is a synonym of Ruellia simplex C.Wright
It seems to be Dipteracanthus patulus (Jacq.) Nees (= Ruellia patula Jacq.) with white flower, erect habit, obtuse leaves, pubescent capsule are the supporting features.
It may be either Dipteracanthus (≈ Ruellia) patulus or D. suffruticosus which I think has white flowers, too.
THE plant is wild, the photos were taken on 27-6-2013 at 7 am Nandgaon Nasik.
