Image is not clear but it is seems to be Gymnostachyum febrifugum Benth. var. febrifugum. It was taken by me some 10 years ag when I started learning plant photography with ordinary Kodak. Probably you are right. it is used in treatment of fevers. It is Toxic in high doses.
