Has a short-creeping, narrow underground rhizome. Mature material is better to photograph or collect. The Digital Flora of Karnataka lists Leucostegia truncata as a synonym of Leucostegia immersa (Hypodematiaceae) The Plant List considers L.truncata and L.immersa as separate species...!
