Inter County
Lockerbie Ice Rink was the venue for the Inter Province match for the Craigielands Cup between Dumfriesshire and Stewartry Provinces on Friday afternoon. Dumfriesshire were the winning Province and Bob Carruthers, on behalf of sponsors, Murray Farmcare Ltd presented the prizes and Craigielands Cup to John Graham’s Dumfries rink of Ian Wallace, Stuart Armstrong and Jim McCormack being highest up of the Dumfriesshire rinks. Christine Ross, Dumfriesshire Province Secretary thanked the sponsors, players and ice staff for a very successful day before presenting the prizes to New Abbey Club being the highest up in the losing Province. President's Night
The last game of the Year was marked as usual by the Annual Xmas match between the Ladies and the Men. This year, the Ladies, inspired by the thought of chocolate, were triumphant. Winning player were Margaret Laurie, Gillian Graham, Irene Doidge, Sue McGrouther, Annie Stoddart, Heather Laurie and Jan Dee. Missing from picture is Shona McCoy. |
Nithsdale Rosebowl League Section A
The first half of the League has just been completed, with Ron McGrouther and his team just edging it on ends from Kenny Hope and his team. Ron, Alex, Dorita, and Heather go forward to the final on 28th March @ 6.30 |
Lions
The Lions Bonspiel at the weekend saw new names of the trophy. Congratulations to Callum Ruddick, Claire Sloan, Gillian Graham, and Caroline Donaldson on winning the High Road.
