Rainey Trophy

The Club organised a number of competitions to celebrate their tenth anniversary. The Club had received a donation from the Dumfries Rugby Club Curling Club on their unfortunate demise, with the proviso that it should be spent on helping junior curlers. The committee decided to have a Junior Senior Bonspiel, with seniors skipping and playing second, and juniors leading and vicing. A trophy was purchased and named the Rainey Trophy in acknowledgement of Isobel's contribution to the Rugby Club Curlers. The Bonspiel was intended as a one off, bur was so succesful, that the committee agreed to make it an annual competition.

The first winner,  appropriately, was Isobel Rainey.

As the Junior curlers have progressed, the Bonspiel has been adapted to have the Juniors and Seniors playing alternately, with some Juniors skipping rinks.
