Dr. Rui Ma has joined Merced County Association of Governments as a Senior Planner in October 2023.
Dr. Ma was an Assistant Professor in Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at University of Alabama in Huntsville. He is also appointed as a Graduate Faculty Member in the Department of Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering in the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Dr. Ma was a Lecturer and Postdoc Scholar in Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of California, Davis.
Dr. Ma's research interests are Dynamic Traffic Network Modeling, Ridesharing, New Mobility, Network Resilience and Sustainability and Smart City.
He received his PhD degree in Civil Engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in 2013. His PhD advisor was Dr. Xuegang (Jeff) Ban. He received his Bachelor's degree in Automation with the focus on the Intelligent Transportation Systems at Tsinghua University in 2009.
