Jamar Dumas - Director of Bands

Jamar Dumas is in his 6th year as the Director of Bands at Daphne High School. He attended Lawrence County High School in Moulton, Alabama where Reggie Tolbert and Bob Patton were his band directors. Mr. Dumas graduated from Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, Alabama. He was a member of the acclaimed Marching Southerners and principal oboist of the Chamber Winds. Upon Graduation in 2005, he accepted the associate director position at Oak Grove High School in Birmingham, AL. In 2008, he became the Director of Bands at Satsuma High School in Satsuma, AL. Bands and ensembles under his direction have consistently earned superior ratings across the region. He is also a clinician and adjudicator across the southeast as well as Program Coordinator at Southwind Drum and Bugle Corps. Mr. Dumas is a member of the American School Band Directors Association (ASBDA), Alabama Bandmasters Association (ABA), Alabama Music Educators Association (AMEA), National Association for Music Education (NAfME), and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Professional Music Fraternity. Mr Dumas lives in Daphne with his beautiful wife Shelly and daughter Madison Elizabeth. His teaching duties include Marching Band, Wind Ensemble, IB/AP Music, International Music and Guitar.

Lee Hughes - Associate Director of Bands
Mr. Lee T. Hughes Jr. is in his 4th year of teaching. He attended Murphy High School in Mobile, AL where Stan Chapman was his band director. Mr. Hughes graduated from the University of South Alabama in Mobile, Alabama. While there he was a member of the acclaimed Jaguar Marching Band and principal trumpet player with the Wind Ensemble. Upon graduation in 2012, he accepted the associate director position at Baker High School in Mobile, Alabama. He is also an avid clinician in the area. Since graduating college he has worked with numerous bands and musical groups along the Gulf Coast including marching bands, concert bands, Jazz Bands, and small chamber ensembles. In spring of 2016 he was chosen to be an honor band clinician with the Mobile County Middle School Honor Band. Mr. Hughes is a member of the Alabama Bandmasters Association (ABA), Alabama Music Educators Association (AMEA), National Association for Music Educators (NAfME), and the International Trumpet Guild (ITG) . Mr. Hughes lives in Mobile with his beautiful wife Kristen.
