Hispanic Heritage Weekend Events 4014Culpeper Fiesta Set for Friday, September 19th, 2014The Culpeper Fiesta takes place in the heart of downtown Culpeper for 4 hours, 6pm to 10pm Friday, September 19th. Plan to bring your whole family down to the Depot (109 Commerce St., Culpeper, VA) for a night a good food and wonderful entertainment. Like us on Facebook to stay in touch. There is no admission fee and free activities will include children's crafts, piñatas, zumba, and live music by the local band Los Inmigrantes. There will also be a presentation by the Sycamore Park 5th and 6th graders. Mark Harman with Harmany DJ,s will be and playing a variety of Latino dance music. This year Rancho La Pura Vida will be demonstrating "Floreo La Reata" a lariat demonstration on horseback! The food, while not free, is very reasonably priced so you can afford to feed the whole family. Food vendors will provide a full selection of traditional Hispanic dishes. There will also be dessert items and beverages. Culpeper Hispanic Heritage Events Set for Saturday, September 20th, 2014Alfombra in the park. 10:00 AM to Noon. Join a group of local artists in creating a colorful carpet of sand in the park behind the LOVE sculpture. This free event will focus on community participation. Come on down and join in this fun for all ages event. Make your own Piñata. 1:30 PM to 2:45 PM at Lollipop Station. Learn how to make your own Piñata. Cost $15 pre-rgistration required. Getting to and around CulpeperThe closest parking for these events is free at the Spencer St. public lot about 3 blocks away. Other parking, street side and in lots around town is also free and can be found within a short walk of the Depot. The Northeast Regional service via Amtrak stops at the Depot and offers several daily options to and from Culpeper. Bed & Breakfast accommodations as well as Suites at 249 and Thyme Inn are located within a block or two of the event. Other hotels are located about 2 miles south of downtown. Taxi and rental car service is also available.
