About Lisa Cole Kronenburg

Lisa is an American artist living and working in Liverpool. Since moving to the UK in 1986 she has established and maintained an active studio practice alongside work as a teacher across a range of disciplines, settings and age groups including schools, museums, university degree courses, art centres, galleries, and community centres. Lisa found teaching to be a natural and complementary practice to painting and she formalised her interest in art education by gaining a teaching qualification in 2007 followed by teaching for 3 years in a secondary school. Lisa has also taught part-time on the fine art degree course at the University of Chester until 2012, resuming full-time painting in early 2013.

Originally from Kansas City, Lisa was born in England where her father was stationed with the US Air Force. She came to the UK on a teaching exchange between The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and Manchester Polytechnic (now Manchester Metropolitan University) when she completed her MFA in 1986. Almost 27 years on she is still here, still painting , still teaching and married with a teenage daughter and an elderly, one-eyed Black Labrador.

Lisa's studio is at home and she is one of the artists the Corke Gallery is committed to showing on a regular basis.
