Possible Merger

posted 17 Feb 2011, 05:36 by Allen Smalls
Following recent issues and a subsequent newspaper article in relation to the Club merger the following was discussed at length during our Committee meeting on Tuesday night.

The Committee unanimously agreed that talks in respect of the two clubs merging could resume once CATS have appointed a Chair and other relevant officers that are required for the running of a successful committee – there is no time scale to this as we all fully appreciate that finding the right people to fill such a positions is not an easy job – and realistically it is not possible to meet the original date of 1st April 2011 for the merger.

It was also agreed to clarify the following items which we feel have already been agreed at previous meetings:

Club name to be Colchester and District A. C.
Club Colours – purple
Finances – match funds – not negotiable - £5K per club for the first year – residual funds from each club to be placed in separate reserve accounts.
Both clubs to honour financial commitments that may have been agreed at committee meetings prior to the merger.
Initial Committee to be appointed officers – seven from each Club – shadowing/working together of main positions emperative.
Training nights and coaches to initially remain the same.

Due to personal reasons Lance has stepped aside from the merger working committee and will continue to be Club Chairman of CHAC – a position which he has successfully held for the past three years and the Committee fully support him within this role.

All communication with regards to the merger is to initially be sent to me either on this email address (AbbottR@stanway.essex.sch.uk) or at rachel.abbott@gmx.co.uk – and it will be passed on to the committee of the Club and discussed.  Please ensure that no communication via email or phone is made directly to Lance.

Please note that I am away next week on holiday and will be returning on the 27th February but please do not hesitate to contact me by email and I will respond on my return.

Kind regards

Rachel Abbott
