Winter Training Schedule begins 12-4-13

Athletes & Parents:

Happy Hanukkah & Happy Thanksgiving! I would like to apologize for the delay in emailing our training schedule for winter. There have a been a few loose ends we have been trying to wrap up prior to emailing. Loose ends aside, we’re excited about our winter training plan! The majority of our varsity and freshman athletes will be participating.

This year we will be utilizing three different training facilities and our coaches will be focusing on strength training, improving endurance and technique. Our core workouts will be facilitated at LA Fitness and our technical training will be facilitated at the First Ward Community Center and West Side Rowing Club. The change of venue should make winter training not only interesting, but also highly effective!

Before getting into the details, with some of our coaches traveling for the holiday and this email being sent later than anticipated, we are moving our start date to Wednesday, December 4th . This will allow time for questions and for parents to complete the always necessary winter training registration.

Our overall team wide training plan will be as follows:

Varsity Girls Schedule:

Mondays: 5:30-7:00 am

Tuesdays: 5:30-7:00 am

Wednesdays: 5:30-7:00 am

Thursdays: 5:30-7:00 am

Fridays: 5:30-7:00 am

Varsity Boys Schedule:

Mondays: 5:30-7:30 am

Tuesdays: 6:00-7:30 am

Wednesdays: 5:30-7:30 am

Thursdays: 6:00-7:30 am

Fridays: 5:30-7:30 am

Saturdays: 8-10 am

Freshman (Boys & Girls) Schedule:

Mondays: 5:30-7:00 pm (Evening)

Wednesdays 5:30-7:00 pm (Evening)

Fridays: 5:30-7:00 am (Morning)

Saturdays: 2:00-3:30 pm (Afternoon)

Modified:

A separate modified events calendar for January will be forwarded at a later date. Important dates for our modified athletes to note for December are the Potluck Holiday Party & the Freezer 5k, both listed on the attached December calendar.

Total Winter Training Costs $230

First Payment $105 Payable to LA Fitness by check or credit card

Due by 12/4/13

Second Payment $125 Payable to City Honors Crew, Inc.

Due 12/18/13

Registration

Registration will be completed at LA Fitness. Sheldon Shapiro, former crew dad, will be facilitating winter training registrations. Sheldon’s can be reached at 716-541-1092 beginning Saturday morning. He will be available this weekend and Monday and Tuesday in 15 minute increments as follows.

Saturday 8am – 8pm

Sunday 8am – 8pm

Monday 12pm – 10pm

Tuesday 12pm – 10pm

Please note, when training at any of our three locations and in particular, the LA Fitness location, our weekly trainings will be run by a CHC coach unless otherwise indicated on the attached calendars. Registration must be completed prior to dropping off athletes for training. I ask that you please not drop off Wednesday morning without first registering your athlete!
