September 12th Meeting

posted Sep 12, 2015, 6:17 PM by Matthew Perez

Today we began the day with service, offering flowers to Our Lady in the norbertine chapel, putting together toiletry bags for the homeless, and preparing bulletins that promote "Pro-Life" to be distributed at the Mary Star Parish Mass. We then began the meeting reviewing the minutes as per usual and then continuing on to more current matters. These include the imminent club expo on September 15th, Fundraisers, Service Events, the initiation of the Squires Advancement Program, and the integration of the Squires Website. The recurring subject of the ever elusive squires snapback as well as orders for the new dryfit squires shirts were also discussed. For further detail, refer to the Meeting Notes.

Today we were joined by a fellow Knight during our meeting. We began the day by setting up chairs and tables in the gymnasium as well as setting down traffic cones in the street to direct cars beside our campus. After finishing our service we resumed the meeting in the classroom and discussed both old and new matters such as the fiesta turn out as well as prospective programs such as Remind that could help further encourage active membership and communication within the club. In addition to these things, events at both Skyzone and Mulligans were discussed as far as packages, pricing, and possible dates. For further detail, refer to the Meeting Notes.

JOIN THE FREE CELEBRATION HONORING OUR LADY: A major celebration honoring Our Lady of Guadalupe is set for L.A. Coliseum in August. Co-sponsors, Los Angeles Archdiocese and Knights of Columbus, say the August 5th celebration will feature prayer, music and speakers honoring Our Lady of Guadalupe, the patroness of the Americas.
The celebration will bring together tens of thousands of Catholics from across the ethnically diverse five-million member Archdiocese, as well as faithful from other areas of Southern California and beyond.
Archbishop Gomez, Supreme Knight Anderson and Monsignor Chavez who oversaw the cause for canonization of St. Juan Diego, will all be featured speakers at the event in August. For free tickets to the event, and for further information visit www.guadalupecelebration.com.
