Apollo is just a BEAUTIFUL boy who was shipped over from Shoots Chinchilla Ranch. A fellow chinchilla breeder, Nan, and I went in on a shipment of chinchillas from the Shoots and I was"chin-sitting" her chins, Apollo and a black velvet female, Dyamond until November '08. We had them shipped up to the San Francisco airport where it was nice and cool so that there was less risk of them overheating, and they spent the summer here at Chinchilla Chateau.
During that time, Apollo was in breeding with some of the females here and passed on his genes with Rikku, producing three male kits and Fleur, with one male kit, before the time came for him to go to his permanent home with Nan. He is just a gorgeous extra dark boy with excellent size and veiling coverage. I was very grateful that I was able to "chin-sit" him and am even more excited to see how his offspring turn out.
Apollo is now happy and settled at his home with Nan but we do miss him very much here at Chinchilla Chateau!
