Year 10 Graduation

Year 10 Completion and Graduation

At Chaffey Secondary College, we encourage our students to be the best that they can be.

Student success can be measured in a variety of ways, not just academically.  Students are encouraged to achieve success both academically and within the school community, by participating in activities such as SRC, sports teams, debating etc.

By Graduating, our students are demonstrating to the Senior College, employers or TAFE, that they are ready and able to take the next step along their future pathway.

Getting to the Graduation Ball
The Chaffey Secondary College Graduation Ball is an opportunity for students, parents/carers and staff to celebrate the successful completion of Year 10. Students and parents/carers will be formally invited to this special event.

During Term 4, students will participate in a compulsory HPE subject which will include dance practice and a mandated Health subject.

How does a student KNOW they are ON TRACK...

During Term 3 and 4, students will be responsible for collecting and documenting their achievements and evidence against the Graduation criteria.
Students will be expected to self monitor and reflect on their progression.
This will be monitored by their Home Group Teacher and the Year 10 Co-ordinator.
Students will have the opportunity in Term 4, to improve their outcomes through setting goals and monitoring progress.

What to do if a student is NOT ON TRACK...

· Speak with the Home Group Teacher about the issue/s and discuss possible solutions.
· Speak to the Year Level Co-ordinator.
· Speak and discuss with the subject teacher about the issue/s and discuss possible solutions.

Attendance ?
Speak to your Year Level Coordinator - Jodie Noblet - about what you can do to make up time and classes missed. She may be able to organise special support or get subject teachers to run catch-up classes

Not passing classes ?
Your subject teacher can give you extra homework or support in class to help you improve your grades and achievement.
Literacy support classes are a great place to improve those important literacy skills needed to pass many courses.

Behaviour ?
Your Year Level Coordinator or an Assistant Principal can meet with you and your parents to start a student support group that will help get behaviour back on track.

Another crack!
If you’d like to persevere you can request to return to Chaffey College after your fourth year to obtain the requirements. This may only take you another extra term.
