 Momin Uppal received the B.S. degree in electronic engineering with highest distinction from  GIK Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology, Pakistan, in 2002. He received the  M.S.  and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from Texas A&M University, College  Station, in 2006  and 2010, respectively. He spent the summers of 2009 at NEC Labs of America, Inc., Princeton,                                         New Jersey as a research assistant, and the summers of 2012 at Texas A&M University Qatar as                                      a visiting researcher. He has been associated with the LUMS School of Science and Engineering                                         since October 2010.


 Fatima Ahsan

 Team Lead

Fatima received her B.Sc. Electrical Engineering from University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore in 2013. Her current areas of research are Practical Implementation of Dirty Paper Coding, practical realization of cognitive nodes in WiFi unlicensed band and Massive MIMO and MU-MIMO networks. Apart from signals and computers, she has interest building robots.

Khurram Usman Mazher

Team Member

Khurram completed his BS in Electrical Engineering from Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), Pakistan in 2015. His research interests span the broad areas of Signal Processing and Wireless Communication systems design and analysis. Particularly I am interested in the theoretical and practical aspect of following topics in these areas:
          • MIMO Systems
          • Synchronization Algorithms for Practical Receivers
          • Full Duplex communications

Muhammad Omar Bin Farooq

Team Member

Umar completed his BS in Electrical Engineering from Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), Pakistan in 2015. His current research interests include cooperative communication, spectrum sensing in cognitive radios and practical implementation of communication system. Apart from these, he is also interested in next generation wireless networks.

 Jawwad Nasar Chattha

 PhD Candidate

Jawwad completed his Bachelors in Electrical Engineering from UET, Lahore in 2006. He completed his Masters in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Tech in Fall 2009. While studying at Virginia Tech, he worked on Ad-hoc computer networks. His thesis is aimed at emulating scenarios for identifying and eradicating selfish behavior in wireless Ad-hoc networks. During masters, Jawwad also worked  as a graduate research assistant on National Science Foundation (NSF) funded project. After graduating, he worked as a consultant for Qualcomm Inc, in San Diego, CA.

 Fawad Ud Din

 Now: Pursuing PhD at McGill University, Canada

 Fawad completed MS in Communications Engineering from Aalto University (formerly known as     Helsinki University of Technology), Finland, in 2013. Prior to this he received BS in Electrical          Engineering from UET, Taxila, Pakistan. During the summer of 2012, he worked at Korean  Advanced Institute Science and Technology (KAIST), Daejon, Republic of Korea, as Research  Intern.  

 Irfan Ullah 

 Now: Lab Engineer, LUMS

 Irfan completed his Bachelors in Electrical Telecommuincation Engineering in July 2013 from  
 COMSATS Institute of Information Technology Islamabad. For final year project, he worked on    
 implementation of cooperative communication in software defined radio and has work experience   in software defined radios and USRP kits.

Isfar Tariq

Now: Pursuing PhD at UT Austin, USA

Isfar completed his Bachelors in Electrical Engineering in July 2013 from Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS). His interests lie in the area of Information Theory and Wireless Communications, specifically in cooperative communications and cognitive networks.
