Illinois Infantry Volunteers on August 11, 1862 at Cheny's Grove and was mustered in on September 6, 1862 at

Decatur, IL as a private in Captain Bishop's Company, 116 Reg't Il Inf. which subsequently became Co. F, 116

Reg't Il Inf. Was in several battles, wounded below the knee, in the hip, (Vicksburg, Mississippi) his shoulder and

eye (Atlanta, Georgia July & August, 1864). Returned to service March 1865. Applied for pension June 19, 1880.


Lived from 1909-1913 in National Military Home in Leavenworth, Kansas


Death: 13 Mar 1913 in Leavenworth County, KS


Cause of Death: Acute Gastritis (Inflammation of the Stomach) Mo Death Cert. #8391.
