Member of Quarter


Abby Turner
    Abby is in the Class of 2017 at Brookfield High School. She has been an active member since her freshman year. Abby has served as the 2014-15 Reporter and will serve as the 2015-16 1st Vice President. 
    This year, Abby competed at state for the Career Development Event (CDE), Farm Management where she received a Group II Individual and Team Rating. She also competed in Division II Prepared Public Speaking where she was honored as the Missouri State FFA Champion! Abby is the Brookfield FFA Chapter's FIRST Public Speaking State Winner! Abby stated that this is her greatest accomplishment in her FFA career.
Her Supervised Agriculture Experience includes: lifegaurding, ham curing, and raising meat chickens.
    Abby's favorite memory in FFA was the bus ride to Area Barnwarming her sophomore year because she had a lot of fun listening, singing, and dancing to music with her friends.

    On June 8th at 8:00 am, eleven Brookfield FFA members and Mrs. Dobrzenski headed south to attend FFA Camp at Camp Rising Sun near the Lake of the Ozarks. All eleven members represented Brookfield very well. To start things off, Derrek Hardy was elected as the camp's President and Abby Turner was elected as the camp's Vice President. Members could compete in a variation of speaking activities, one was Improv Speaking where Katelyn Galloway placed first with Jordan Hasty coming in second. Another speaking contest members could compete in was Extemporaneous Speaking where Jordan Hasty placed first and Katelyn Galloway came in with third place. 
    Members were also given the opportunity to receive a State Leadership metal. To meet the criteria for the metal they had to obtain 13 points that could be received though leadership sessions, competing in speaking or knowledge competitions, attend Instructional Archery, or Instructional Waterfront. All members from the Brookfield FFA Chapter received their metal! This was a great experience for all members and again, the members Represented Brookfield very well!!
