Allied to the PRoVisG Field Trials has been an Outreach programme funded by the UKSA and managed by Venture Thinking in conjunction with Astrium Ltd. Its purpose is to bring the excitement and challenges of space exploration to schools, colleges and science venues all over the UK. Education packs have been created as part of the programme and a call for Mars Explorers has been made to future explorers of our universe. A competition was held in which schools, colleges and individuals were challenged to design missions and rovers to explore other planets such as Mars. The standard of entries was excellent and the judges were very impressed with the inventiveness of the designs and the level of effort put in by the entrants.(see some of the entries here) |
