FP7 is the short name for the Seventh Framework Programme for Research and Technological Development. This is the EU's main instrument for funding research in Europe and it will run from 2007-2013. FP7 is also designed to respond to Europe's employment needs, competitiveness and quality of life.

The Seventh Framework Programme gathers all research-related EU initiatives together under a common roof, aiming to bring Europe to the most dynamic competitive knowledge-based economy in the world.

PRoVisG is one of the research projects selected under the Seventh Framework Programme and has enjoyed excellent support from the European Commission through this funding programme.
