The field trials are organised in the following fashion: Bridget will be carrying the required PRoVisG instruments (not all of them will be tested at the same time) and imaging either in Llanos de Ucanca or Minas de San Jose, both locations in el Teide National Park. Meanwhile, close-by, there will be a portable control centre set-up to drive Bridget remotely. From the Portable Control Centre there will be a satellite link allowing communications with the PRoVisG support team, located in the Hotel Parador and with the control centre in Stevenage, UK. It will be possible for Bridget to be directly controlled from the Remote Control Centre, thousands of miles away . The Astrium team will be spread between the portable control centre, to drive Bridget, communicate with the scientists and the rest of the wrold and around Bridget (but hidden from the PRoVisG cameras), to make sure she performs as expected. |
