Brews for History 2012

Join the Chicago Metro History Education Center to celebrate the start of the 35th Annual Chicago Metro History Fair!

We are celebrating with Brews for History, a fundraising event to benefit History Fair.

Featuring

  • a tasting of local craft brews provided by Haymarket Pub & Brewery and award-winning brewmaster Pete Crowley,
  • an entertaining talk about Beer and Revolutionaries by Bill Savage of Northwestern University, and
  • a raffle and silent auction of exciting BEER-aphernalia and other great items!

Brews for History will bring together young professionals and introduce them to the Chicago Metro History Education Center (CMHEC), while benefiting Chicago’s students and their teachers.

All proceeds from Brews for History will support the Chicago Metro History Fair, the core educational program of CMHEC. History Fair serves nearly 20,000 students and more than 400 teachers each year. Schools from across the city and suburbs participate in the History Fair, with approximately two-thirds of its participants coming from low-income backgrounds.

Support for Brews for History helps CMHEC keep its costs low in order to ensure that all students can benefit from the History Fair experience.
